Welsh Whiteley Architects is a full-service architectural firm located in the heart of downtown Ketchikan. Principals Amanda Welsh and Tim Whiteley have project experience throughout the State, with recent work focused primarily on projects within Southeast Alaska, as far north as Skagway. Welsh Whiteley Architects takes pride in the following:
- Respect for Southeast Alaska's built history. Both principals of Welsh Whiteley have educational backgrounds and work experience in historic preservation, and have a strong respect for the rich diversity of building types that form Alaskan communities.
- A strong ethic of community service. The Alaskan spirit of volunteerism makes our communities outstanding places to live.
- An understanding of Alaska as a community. Welsh Whiteley Architects strive for every project to have a positive contribution to the community it serves.
As a small firm, Welsh Whiteley Architects primarily takes on projects of a smaller scale. Teaming with other Alaskan architectural firms provides us with the opportunity to work with collegues on larger projects with wide-reaching benefit to our home community. Our successful working relationship with CB Bettisworth & Company of Fairbanks recently led to the formation of Bettisworth Welsh Whiteley, LLC, a new company with the production capacity for large projects in Southeast Alaska.
