CEDAR POINT DEVELOPMENT

Design for this mixed-use development on the Ketchikan waterfront includes three commercial and residential condominium buildings, each four stories in height, and comprising 29,470 sq ft. The top floor is housed within the attic space, reducing the visual bulk of the buildings and, when viewed from the water, helping them fit in with the townscape beyond.

Final owner and tenant uses include retail stores, a gallery and cafe, medical and accounting offices, and seven residential condos. Exterior materials are a combination of metal siding towards the prevailing weather and cedar shingles on the entry sides.

The hybrid structural system of wood-framed wall construction and steel bar-joists with concrete slab floors was designed by R&M Engineering - Ketchikan, Inc.
