COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS

Welsh Whiteley Architects worked with Community Connections and the project developer on the social agency's new offices in a remodeled pre-engineered metal building in Ketchikan. Services included assistance with spatial needs analysis and site selection, conceptual design and renderings for fund raising purposes, construction documentation and permitting, and hourly assistance as required during construction.

A high level of sound isolation was a project priority, along with energy efficiency so that the agency's operations costs could be minimized.

A two-story addition on the front of the building accommodates a new elevator, first floor waiting area, and a second floor office and meeting room. The new facility accommodates offices and shared work areas for Community Connections' three main programs and administration.
