Welsh Whiteley Architects designed this 1,800 sq ft passenger terminal and storage building at the Hoonah Ferry Terminal facility, located on Admiralty Island.  The passenger terminal houses a passenger waiting area, public restrooms, staff office and ticketing counter.  A drive-up window provides ticketing service for vehicles.

 

Framing lumber, exterior siding and trim, and interior trim was locally sourced from the Hoonah sawmill. Ticketing counters are welcoming yet securable when the building is used for other purposes by the community. The ticketing office has a clear view of the docking area.
