KETCHIKAN FIRE STATION NO. 1
Bettisworth Welsh Whiteley, LLC designed this 23,000 sq ft, 3-story fire station in downtown Ketchikan to replace the old fire station facility, which was built in the 1940s. Goals included providing a building with a larger capacity and convenience of location, as well as compliance updates per building code and ADA accessibility.
This building houses a four-bay apparatus floor for fire station vehicles, six bunk rooms, a kitchen, day room, laundry area, exercise room, locker/showers, study/library, decontamination room, dispatch, Quartermaster and storage areas, medical supplies, dive team storage room, and staff offices and reception.
